Nagwin Installation doesn't worked as it should

Hi there everybody,

I'm a student in business informatics and have to write a paper on monitoring tools. Beacuse of the fact that Nagios usually runs on Linux machines, I tried to install Nagwin 2.5.0 on my Windows 7 machine. The installation went fine and no problems or difficulties occured. But after starting the Nagwin Services, I received a txt file called "NagiosServicesResult.txt" with following error messages:

"agwin_Nagios  [SC] StartService: OpenService FAILED 1060:   The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Nagwin_Nginx  [SC] StartService: OpenService FAILED 1060:   The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Nagwin_NagiosFcgi  [SC] StartService: OpenService FAILED 1060:   The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Nagwin_PhpFcgi  [SC] StartService: OpenService FAILED 1060:   The specified service does not exist as an installed service."

I also tried to reinstall the tool several times, but I always get the same errors.

Maybe someone could help me with this issue.

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Lugger

Nagwin installs four services as a part of the installation. It seems that they are not installed. Check if the service account SvcNagwin is created. If not, there may be problems with the password complexity. Try also to run the installer as admin (right click and run as administrator).

I also tried the installation

I also tried the installation as a admin. I still receive the same error messages. Seems like the installers doesn't install the way he does, but there weren't any problems while the installation..

Btw, service account

Btw, service account ScvNagwin was created, because while the uninstalling process I receive the following message "Do you want to remove service account SvcNagwin ?"

The message from the uninstaller doesn't check if the service account does exist. There may be password complexity issue. What you can do is to create a local user upfront and use it as a service account manually duing installation.
